Da Nang in One Day

Tour from Da Nang

Don't read about the city — feel it.

The Marble Mountains, the Son Tra peninsula and the Dragon Bridge reveal three faces of Da Nang. Today people come for the Marble Mountains, Am Phu cave, the snow-white Lady Buddha and the fire show on the Dragon Bridge. But once these places were believed to belong to spirits and an ancient Dragon…

Legend has it that a Dragon slept beneath the stone mountains. Its breath carved caves into the rock, and Am Phu became the gate to the underworld. But storms came from the sea. Then a white guardian appeared on Son Tra. She raised her palm over the bay, and the fishermen began returning home again. Since then the Lady Buddha guards the sea, and the Dragon guards the land.

On weekends the ancient guardian wakes above the Han River and breathes living fire into the night sky.
